Custom Domains & Storefront URLs
Connect a custom domain to your BusinessPlus storefront: configure DNS CNAME records, test live DNS propagation, and secure automatic SSL certificates.
Default Subdomains vs Custom Domains
Every BusinessPlus site is instantly available on its free `*.businessplus.co.ke` subdomain. To establish a professional brand identity, you can connect your own custom domain (e.g. `www.apexstore.co.ke` or `shop.mybrand.com`).
Configuring Your Custom Domain
To connect a domain, navigate to Dashboard -> Settings -> Site Settings -> Domains (`/dashboard/settings/site/:id/domains`):
- 1. Enter Custom Domain Name: Enter your domain in the Custom Domain field (e.g. `www.yourbrand.co.ke`).
- 2. Add DNS Record in Your Registrar: Log into your domain provider's DNS manager and create a CNAME record pointing your subdomain or `www` host to `cname.businessplus.co.ke`.
- 3. Save & Verify DNS: Click "Save Domain" and "Verify DNS". BusinessPlus runs a live DNS lookup to verify active CNAME propagation.

SSL Certificates & Propagation
Once DNS propagation completes (usually within 5 minutes to 24 hours), BusinessPlus automatically provisions an SSL certificate for HTTPS encryption. The domain status changes from `pending` to `active`.
Allowed Domains for Embedded Chat Widget
If you embed the BusinessPlus AI Assistant chat widget on external landing pages or WordPress sites, add those domain URLs to the "Allowed Domains" list in Domain Settings to whitelist CORS origins.
